Premiere of Alcohol Free Living in Orkney – 12th November at Kings Street Halls We’re excited to share news of the upcoming premiere of a short film produced by Scott Woolley at Arclett – Alcohol Free Living in Orkney. The premiere will take place on the 12th of November from 4–5pm, at King Street Halls, coinciding with national Alcohol Action Day. The film was created to celebrate Arclett’s 100th community story which was shared by a local Orkney resident at Yesnaby. It also celebrates our founders 11-year alcohol-free milestone. The film has a dual focus. Firstly, it provides an opportunity for professionals & public health colleagues to learn more about the Arclett approach to alcohol prevention and the role that lived experience and community storytelling can play in changing attitudes towards alcohol. It also has a more personal focus, exploring the individual’s own experience of changing their relationship with alcohol. The film features a local resident sharing their own story so it’s very much rooted in the Orkney community. The aim is to show that conversations around alcohol prevention don’t have to be clinical – they are becoming cultural through the emerging sober curious movement. There is also a free Workplace Wellbeing Webinar on the 13th of November: Are You Sober Curious? Why Alcohol-Free Living Is Becoming a Workplace Conversation. This one-hour webinar is open to everyone—not just Health and Social Care staff. Whether you’re interested in drinking less, wellbeing, or simply hearing a different perspective, all are welcome. More details and registration are available via TicketTailor. We look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible to these events.
